1992 and headquartered in Pensacola, FL. Summit possesses a track record of continuous growth and is known for providing successful solutions to commercial and Government customer requirements. The Summit management team is led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Joseph F. Funaro, Ph.D., who has 40+ years of experience in both Government and industry as an innovator in training and human factors technology. A former Marine Corps and Naval Officer with over 23 years of active duty experience, Dr. Funaro is well-versed in the technical and practical aspects of successful defense industry business operations and program management.

Mission Planning Support Contract (MPSC) III – Hill Air Force Base, UT (Prime)


Summit is the prime contractor on a five-year, $250M single award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Mission Planning Enterprise headquarted at Hill Air Force Base, UT. This contract provides 24/7/365 global mission planning support in USAF wings, groups and squadrons; Distributed Common Ground Systems (DCGSs); and Air National Guard (ANG) and other units by providing highly cleared and mission and domain expert service support representatives. Besides Hill AFB, the work is performed at over 50 worldwide locations. Summit provides:

Communications Operations Support Services for the PA DMVA (Prime)


Summit provides IT support to the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (PA DMVA). Summit performs all required support tasks including administration, maintenance, installation, testing, troubleshooting, programming, configuration, and repair for Cisco VTS equipment and video communication servers, mobile operating systems and devices, and Session Initiated Protocol (SIP)/Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP).  Activities include:

Summit was the sole awardee of a $70M IDIQ contract to provide IT Services to the National Guard mission nationwide, at Major Command (MAJCOM), Base, Post, or State office level in the 54 states and territories and the District of Columbia. The contract was available to any DOD activity and provided a full range of non-personal IT services to achieve maximum effectiveness and economy in operations in support of the National Guard. U.S. Army Maneuver Center Battle Lab (MBL), Ft. Benning, GA (Subcontractor)


Summit is assisting SAIC in fulfilling the Ft. Benning MBL’s requirement for comprehensive support services. Summit personnel support experimentation in support of the Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC) Campaign Plan (ArCP). Typical experiments range from a squad-sized event with a 4-6 week planning and execution cycle to a brigade combat team (BCT)-sized event with a 6-12 month planning and execution cycle. Experimentation forces are represented by any combination of instrumented live, constructive simulation, and virtual simulators. Tactical representation of units includes organic equipment personnel and equipment with higher echelon and joint enablers. Summit personnel execute simulation events in accordance with planning and preparation guidance by providing:

Global Adaptive Planning Collaborative Information Environment (GAP CIE) (Subcontractor)


Summit as a subcontractor to Northrup Grumman, provides software engineering support to the Global Adaptive Planning Collaborative Information Environment (GAP CIE) a web-based, collaborative Joint Operation Planning (JOP) tool that supports distributed participants in multiple security enclaves (primarily Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication System. GAP CIE is comprised of two functional components supported by commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software products: the GAP CIE planning environment, and the Global Situational Awareness Tool (GSAT). GSAT provides situational awareness of global events in a sharable, user-defined operational picture for viewing geospatial, temporal, relational, and tabular COA planning data.

U.S. Army Counter Explosive Hazards Center (CEHC) Planners Course Instruction (Prime)


Summit provides expert instruction for the U.S. Army Counter Explosive Hazards Planners (CEH-P) Course on awareness and defeat of explosive hazards based on current threats. Summit provides qualified instructors who are able to effectively convey the material, maintain professional subject matter proficiency, and are well versed in the course material, outcomes, goals, and standards. All work is accomplished according to TRADOC Regulation 350-70. Scope includes mobile training teams to provide CONUS and OCONUS instruction, to include:

Dragon Operation Centers & Ground Control Stations Maintenance and Support (Subcontractor)


This contract provides for the maintenance and support of the Dragon Operations Center-Cannon AFB, New Mexico (DOC-C) and Dragon Operation Center-Nellis AFB, Nevada (DOC-N) to support the 3d Special Operations Squadron (3 SOS) and their associated Air Force Reserve unit’s MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper operations. The DOC-C and DOC-N are a system of systems that provide critical command and control data and voice interconnectivity to enable pilots and sensor operators to fly and control Combat Air Patrols (CAPs)

Predator/Reaper aircraft worldwide in direct support of the warfighter. As a subcontractor to SAIC, Summit provides the staffing support to maintain the DOC-C and DOC-N functional capabilities required to support worldwide flight operations. Activities include:
